This place has been around since I was a kiddo - I loved it then and I still love it. We'd typically go on a sunday night after the dodger game. Or during the week before a dodger game. We got to see tommy Lasorda come in for the egg roll - by the way, the best egg roll EVER on many occasions. He'd say hello to all the tables in the front room...but now the food - I LOVE THEIR SWEET AND SOUR. I LOVE THEIR BARBECUE PORK and their chow mein. The noodles are never mushy. Any beef dish is amazing. The shrimp dishes ARE FANTASTIC. My dad would let each of us pick a dish out, he'd write our order out on the back of an envelope in his architect print...with the inevitable Cross pen and we'd feast. LOL and the waiter, I saw him a couple years back he's still there and he'd call me little girl and I wasn't little but I loved it..he was so kind to my husband, my husband was dying from cancer and wanted Paul's kitchen one last time while he could still eat...the place is just amazing. When he was healthy we'd take the kids and hit Paul's before going to the train station to buy our Christmas Tree. Hey, before the tree you go to the nuts store down the block half way...I loved this place.

On this Saturday that I visited Paul's kitchen, my husband and I had completed a two hour walk from the jewelry district to the toy district to Santee Alley and back to the jewelry district where we hopped in our car, tired and hungry, and the first thing I did was go on Yelp to find Paul's kitchen near me Which we found it was only a five minute drive from the jewelry district where we were parked and we came here with cash, of course to purchase and share a little deliciousness of downtown LA.

The food here is good. Definitely try the Chinese chicken salad and the BBQ pork. The employees are helpful and Charlie is the best.

FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Little hole in the wall place with great food. The server was nice and told us about the place and its history although it was a little hard to understand. You can see the history with all the memorabilia like the signed picture and bobble heads and jerseys hanging around. It's not in the best place which the server said is why they close so early. If there was one problem it's probably just that since you need to get there and eat dinner early. Other than that though, we will be back as we really enjoyed all the food we got leaving very full and very happy. Portions run on the smaller side and cash only but would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to try a new Chinese food place. Has its own parking lot which is always nice in LA and a little safer

Egg Foo Young is what we go for as no chefs are making it old school like that. However, is not a healthy dish
